It's More Than That!

(Translated to ENG by Danti)

What does your social media used for? Poke around friend's post? Looking for memes? Stalking your ex? Or do a war for enforcing justice?

These all are facts that we all usually do at leisure. Actually, in that time, we can do anything that more useful (follow with your own initiative).

Here I will share, I don't know what it's going to be like, but hopefully it can be useful for you guys.

I am a social media addict, specifically a Twitter addict. I have used Twitter since first year in Junior High School, maybe around 2013/2014 and it was the first time I had my personal account. First, I used some cheesy words for my tweets and it can be said I was done passively on that account. As time goes by, in 2019, when Twitter started increasing because of the appearance of many K-pop fans account, which means I was there joined back as it followed by a new account.

I finally understood how to use Twitter at that time, gained some followers because of followed fellow fans, beside that I was thinking, "I am a new student of English major. It was so flat and bored if I only learn in class then do the tasks." Honestly, I am typically getting bored and I have to adjust my learning style in order to be more comfortable in studying.

When I scrolled on Twitter, which is my place to confide, I found a video on my Twitter timeline. A girl was giving a tutorial how to quickly memorize English grammar there. To be honest, I was struggled to do it on my first year as a college student. Since I found it useful for me, I saved the tweet and the video inside to my bookmark. I started to set up the language on my devices into English, both smartphone and laptop. What's the reason of these all? In order to get slowly self-study for English unconsciously. The correlation with my fan account I had, It was a challenge for me to tweet in English.

On my Twitter timeline, I sometimes feel envious that my mutuals can be this confident on tweeting used English and they proudly wrote 'ENG-IDN' on their bio, mostly they'd talk about anything in English as the main language. They sometimes gave a count on how often they used the languages. Of course, me as a English language learner was getting more excited to improve my English. Setting the language into English, is done. I just have to follow those accounts that mostly tweet in English, additionally when I whipped over my favorite idol.

Incidentally, autobase was on the rise at that time (it might be now and perhaps in the future).  If you don't have Twitter and have no idea about it, autobase - it is formed from automatic and fanbase - is a place where you can anonymously send messages with certain questions and topic through direct message. You understand now?

Maybe there are some accounts that personally make threads, usually tutorials to learn English, mostly it is grammar or English vocabulary. It's all on personal or individual account. It's different with autobase. Incidentally, I followed one autobase that specifically for English only. So, there you can send menfess about English.

From social media, I'd say it can bring many benefits for us. It is not only I mentioned specifically above, just wasting your time and do not earn anything other than poking around. You know, it's exciting when you put learn and play together. Even a social media addict like me can start to proudly say 'I learn from social media' because my several friends wondered how I could get high score in several English tests. I regularly learned and played social media was the answer.

It's the end of my story about how I properly use social media, in the end it's full of whipped over my idol haha. Hey calm, it is followed with study. You guys also can share your learning style here. Is there any of you alike me?
